The Slap Affair

For the uninformed

You have to see it to believe it. No, I am not talking about the actual point in time when the slap happened. I am talking about the news coverage.

Here are excerpts from the reporter on live TV:
* Don't read too much into the slap, we don't know yet whether it was done in a funny or humorous way, we cant say. All we know is that Sree was howling and crying. (Yeah yeah, when someone cries or howls, there could be humor somewhere. Can you bend and squirm some more in front of Lalit Modi)!!!

* Unless Punjab appeals, nothing may happen. (It is like saying that we all know the woman got raped but unless she lodges an "official" complaint, nothing will be done).

I can go on and on but just watch the ways in the next few days how they brush this one under the carpet. There are many players in this act, but only one lord and master, someone called Lalit Modi (sound familiar)?

And pray isn't cricket supposed to be a gentleman's game and haven't they pledged to abide by some rules on conduct? When anyone wants to point out the fallacies of cricket, the most cliched defense that is always supposed to work is that "cricket is a gentleman's game". We all know now that Bhajji is no gentleman, so can you please ban him using your own convictions.

Not only that, here is a surdie slapping a Punjabi team player, wonder what the sardars of punjab are thinking of their favourite blue eyed boy who is a law unto himself now.

Whether IPL is cricket or business, the outcome of this case should tell you clear enough. Place your bets gentlemen.
